JOB DESCRIPTION
Bullivant Houser’s Portland office has an exciting opportunity for a qualified litigation paralegal who enjoys being highly involved in their cases, including collaborating on strategy, independently moving cases forward through discovery and investigation, participating in regular team meetings, opportunities to go to trial, and working with brilliant lawyers on interesting cases. This full-time position requires a minimum of 4 years’ experience working as a litigation paralegal preferably in the casualty practice area. Responsibilities include document review and organization, assessing evidence, document database management, witness interviews, and investigation. Must have experience analyzing and summarizing medical records, preparing subpoenas, and discovery requests and responses, conducting background and fact investigations, preparing for trial, and assisting attorneys in both state and federal court trials (Oregon experience required; Washington experience is not required but is a plus).
The position requires a high level of organizational skills, attention to detail, follow through, and strong oral and written communication skills. Excellent client service orientation, sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain focused in the midst of dueling priorities are also essential to the position. The ideal candidate will have experience with Litigation Support programs such as Relativity, Westlaw, Case Notebook, Eclipse, Sanction, Trial Pad, and CourtTrax.
