Through these spotlights, we aim to share the stories, experiences, and passions of our team members, showcasing the diverse talents and dedication that drive Bullivant forward. Today we’re interviewing Ginger Erickson-Gettel, our Human Resources and Benefits Administrator.
How long have you been with the firm?
I joined Bullivant in October of 2023, so just under a year.
What do you like most about the work that you do?
I love to be able to help people. Navigating benefits can be difficult, and I enjoy helping people understand their benefits and be able to use them effectively. We also have some great benefit carriers, and I make an effort to get to know our representatives and billing teams so we have access to them as resources. I want to be that HR person that doesn’t cause people to flinch when I walk in the room [interviewer note: she is!]. My coworkers work really hard at their jobs, and I want to be the resource for the things that they don’t have time to think about.
What do you enjoy most about working at Bullivant?
The Bullivant core values are also my core values. I believe that we are nothing without our team, and I embrace hard work with a side of fun. With my role I find that I am never bored and always challenged.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not at work?
I have created a beautiful, unique yard; my home is my oasis, and I have worked hard to make a place that is lovely and full of creative elements. I enjoy home décor and I love designing unique, eclectic, off-beat designs. I am an avid reader; crime dramas and mysteries mostly, and I am obsessed with music. I embrace all music genres, from death metal to opera (I worked at Portland Opera for a couple of years) to jazz. I also enjoy planning mini beer tours with my husband and our best friends. We choose a neighborhood and spend the day checking out local shops and trying local beers. I also have four menaces cats that drive me crazy (and am considering adding a fifth…).
Ginger is the firm’s Human Resources and Benefits Administrator. She has years of experience working in accounting and human resources roles, and she is passionate about helping her coworkers, guiding them through the sometimes messy parts of their work lives. She helps shape employee experience and is a great ambassador for company culture for everyone from new hires to long-term employees.
