Commitment to Sustainable Business Practices
Education: Understand that the daily actions of each person in the firm will contribute to the success of this policy and provide education of attorneys and staff on sustainability matters.
Purchasing and Procurement: Consider reusability, biodegradability, recycled content, waste minimization, hazardous-chemical free, and energy conservation of office supplies and equipment.
Recycling and Waste Reduction: Minimize disposables and packaging, reuse equipment and supplies where feasible, and maximize recycling of all items that can be recycled.
Energy and Water Use Efficiency: Collaborate with our building managers and other building tenants to conserve energy and water use through efficient heating/cooling, lighting, equipment, and purchase energy from renewable resources.
Travel and Commuting: Provide commuter incentives to encourage use of mass transit, carpooling, and bicycle use. Consider means for reducing business travel, including videoconferencing options, and strategies for reducing the impact of travel, including fuel efficiency, and Flex Car options.
Maintenance and Measurement: Regularly audit and enhance our sustainability initiatives to ensure we continually reduce our impact on the environment.
