Daveed Schwartz to become Vice Chair, Unfair Competition Law ("UCL") Programs
Bullivant Houser Bailey PC, a West Coast business and complex litigation law firm, is pleased to announce that Daveed Schwartz has been appointed Vice Chair—Unfair Competition Law ("UCL") Programs, for the Executive Committee of the State Bar of California's Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Section ("Section").
"Daveed's appointment is recognition of his focused, valuable experience and his selfless contribution of time and teaching to the California State Bar and its members on issues of antitrust and unfair competition. We congratulate him," said Beth Skillern, president of Bullivant Houser Bailey.
Schwartz leads the firm's Antitrust and Trade Regulation Practice and has been a member of the Section's Executive Committee since September 2009. His appointment as Vice Chair—UCL Programs is effective September 26, 2010.
As Vice Chair—UCL Programs, Schwartz will organize two continuing legal education ("CLE") panels on UCL issues for the Section's 21st Annual Golden State Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Institute and Antitrust Lawyer of the Year Award Dinner to be held in October 2011. He will be the moderator for a CLE panel entitled, "Advanced Principles: UCL Standing & Class Certification," at the Section's 20th Annual Golden State Antitrust and Unfair Competition Law Institute and Antitrust Lawyer of the Year Award Dinner to be held October 21, 2010 in San Francisco. Schwartz is a frequent speaker, panelist and writer on antitrust, class actions, UCL, and electronic payments law issues.
