Professional Development

At Bullivant Houser Bailey PC we are committed to the development of our attorneys. Our training is provided through internal programs and outside continuing legal education seminars paid for by the firm, as well as thorough guidance from our more experienced attorneys.

We provide our attorneys with the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and to work closely with more experienced attorneys. The firm has an orientation program to introduce new attorneys to the firm's systems and policies, which include pairing new attorneys with an advisor to oversee their integration in the firm. In addition, our practice groups hold in-house training programs and retreats for their members that bring together attorneys from various offices who are focused on specific areas of law. Practice group retreats provide our attorneys with an opportunity to build relationships, identify way to collaborate and develop new business strategies.


Shareholders and senior associates serve as mentors and advisors, providing associates with valuable feedback and guidance with respect to their assimilation into the firm. Mentors serve as a valuable resource to associates for professional advice and guidance.


Associates receive formal evaluations on an annual basis. These evaluations are based on the assessments of the shareholders who the associates have worked with during the prior year. This process helps to develop the associate's strengths and assist in areas requiring growth.
