Practice Experience

Amanda Bryan is a business law attorney who represents clients in transactional and litigation matters. Prior to joining Bullivant, Amanda worked as a business and intellectual property attorney and civil litigator at a Portland-area law firm. She has experience in preparing opinion letters, drafting pleadings and motions in state and federal court, and has developed procedures to improve and streamline the discovery and filing processes.

In addition to her work at the firm, Amanda also teaches a graduate level course in Book Publishing at Portland State University. The course is designed to prepare the program's students to identify legal issues that arise in the publishing industry and covers everything from entity formation to infringement lawsuits. Amanda received her Juris Doctorate with a Certificate in Intellectual Property from Lewis & Clark Law School.

Prior to law school, Amanda received a Master's Degree in Writing with an emphasis in book publishing. She ran a digital publishing services company for six years and became inspired by conversations I was having with publishers and authors around the problems of copyright law in a digital context.
