LEVERAGING NONTRADITIONAL ATTORNEY BACKGROUND IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND INSURANCE

Alex Hill is a commercial litigator who defends businesses, employers, nonprofits, insurers, and other organizations in disputes throughout Oregon and Washington. As a former police officer and claims professional for a large insurance company, Alex brings a unique perspective to each case. In addition to his extensive experience handling insurance claims litigation, he is sought after in employment defense cases, including representation of private universities for claims involving students and employees, as well as complex commercial disputes. Clients appreciate that he listens, asks meaningful questions, and works to understand their business so his clients feel their story is voraciously told and heard.

Alex’s background in criminal and insurance investigations provides him with advanced training and experience in interviewing, investigations, and negotiations beyond the traditional attorney. He knows what to look for and does not hesitate to ask tough questions or challenge contradictions. Alex enjoys leveraging this nontraditional background to provide his clients with a distinct, think-outside-the-box approach to evaluations, analysis, and options for resolution.

FAMILY GUY WHO LOVES A GOOD STORY

Alex not only enjoys developing the narrative for the cases he defends and prosecutes, but he also enjoys reading and watching a good story. He is an avid collector of early American literature, with his favorite authors including Hemingway and Joyce, and enjoys keeping up with the latest superhero movies with his wife and three sons. Alex is also a woodworking hobbyist and, as a Portland native, a lifelong Blazers fan who still loves rooting for the home team.
